This page explains how Makebook uses cookies and similar technologies to provide, protect and improve its services for you.
What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file stored on your computer or mobile device when you visit a website. It allows the site to remember your actions and preferences (such as your login) over a given period, so that you do not have to enter them again each time you move from one page to another.
Essential Cookies
These cookies are strictly necessary to provide you with the services available on our platform and to use some of its features, in particular access to secure areas (authentication).
- Authentication session: Keeps you signed in while you browse.
- Consent preferences: Remembers your choice regarding the cookie banner (`getebook_cookies_consent`).
Analytics and Performance Cookies (Optional)
We use PostHog to measure audience and understand how the site is used (pages visited, traffic source, device). These cookies are only set if you have accepted them from our banner. If you are signed in, events are linked to your account to reconstruct your journey (from visitor to registered user) — so it is not anonymous, but reserved for internal product management use, and never shared or resold.
If you have accepted audience measurement, PostHog may also record your session (session replay): a recording of your clicks, scrolling and mouse movements, to spot points of friction in the interface. This recording only covers the creation journey (home page, sign-up, creation and workshop of your ebook), never payment, your account or administration. Input fields are masked: what you type (password, email, text) is not recorded. It stops as soon as you refuse or withdraw your consent.
Managing your preferences
You can choose to accept or refuse non-essential cookies on your first visit through the dedicated banner. You can also delete or block cookies at any time from your browser settings, but please note: blocking essential cookies will prevent you from signing in to your Makebook account.
