Data controller

The data controller is Rayan Cherrad, sole proprietor operating Makebook, SIRET 928 711 688 00012.

1. Data collection

When you use Makebook, we collect the following data: email address (for authentication), first name (if provided), and the content you generate (titles, outlines, ebook chapters).

2. Use of data

This data is used only to:

• Manage your authentication and your account.
• Generate and save your ebooks.
• Provide technical support.

3. Sharing with third parties (Processors)

To run the service, we rely on trusted processors:

• Supabase: Database and authentication.
• Vercel: Application hosting.
• OpenRouter: Processing of artificial intelligence requests (the content of the ebook is sent to the AI for generation).
• Stripe: Secure payment processing. No banking data is stored on our servers.
• Brevo: Sending of transactional emails and account-related communications.
• PostHog: Audience measurement and, with your consent, session recording (session replay) on the creation journey, with input fields masked. See the cookie policy.

4. Retention period

Your account data and books are kept as long as your account is active. When you delete your account from your customer area, your profile, books and generated files (exports, covers, coloring pages) are immediately deleted from our active databases and storage buckets (and purged within 30 days from automated backups). Anti-abuse tool counters are purged after 48 hours, attribution cookies expire after at most 90 days (30 days for referrals), and billing records are kept for 10 years to meet statutory accounting obligations.

5. Your rights (GDPR)

In accordance with the GDPR, you have the right to access, rectify, erase and port your data. You can exercise these rights by contacting us at the support email address, or directly from your customer area.
